Meet Earthman Dan | Project Founder

Dan started his career in conservation as a student in Madagascar. While assisting with studies on lemur behaviour, he produced the IWFF award-winning film, ‘Nosy Maitso.’ After being introduced to the value of quality environmental education during his employment with WCS at the Bronx Zoo in New York, Dan traveled to Nigeria to work at a primate rescue center in a remote rainforest. After Nigeria, Dan came to Cambodia to work as a Education & Communications Manger for a wildlife rescue center. After identifying the desperate need for a dedicated environmental education and public awareness project for wildlife conservation in Cambodia, Dan launched Fauna in Focus is 2015.

Dan’s vision for the future of Fauna in Focus is broad, reaching from on-the-ground training, education and outreach programs, to nature center design, to advanced online learning tools, films, and even VR educational tools for natural science learning.
